Grantham Future Support Project Pretty

project pretty love Grantham

Project Pretty is an initiative, spearheaded by Grantham Business Club, incorporating support from a number of local partners. The aim of the project is simple – to make the town a more attractive place to visit, live and work.

The project originated out a desire by local organisations to see the people of the town and its businesses taking a pride in Grantham once more.

It was felt that whilst long-term plans for the town are invaluable, there was also a need to have some short-term wins in the town which Project Pretty will focus on.

The Project Pretty working group identified six initial issues as the ones to focus on. They were:

  • gateways into the town
  • roundabouts
  • floral displays
  • empty shop units
  • car park signage
  • tidiness

Grantham Future has agreed to fund initiatives involving two of the above issues – floral displays and empty shop units. Through their resources roundabouts and tidiness are also being addressed.

More information will be available on these schemes soon.

Public Artwork for Grantham

Grantham Future is investigating some funding specifically for some public art work for Grantham on behalf of South Kesteven District Council. The funding is from Section 106 funds which the Council has collected. Grantham Future’s aim will be to investigate and recommend potential uses for the money to SKDC.

This is an exciting project for the town as currently Grantham has limited public art work located within the town centre so this project will be a positive forward step in providing additional enjoyment for residents and visitors.

Where possible, the project will aim to utilise local talents in order to use the artwork to create a higher quality town centre whilst boosting the local economy.

A stakeholder group will soon be formed as a working group for this project.
